«A huge talent on the verge of something spectacular, we've had a listen to Cori Nora's debut album and it is an embarrassment of riches. Esoteric, but infinitely listenable, she reminds us a little of PJ Harvey, her music distant and yet so, so personal.» - Folkroom Records UK
Blending indie-pop, folk, alternative rock, and jazz, Cori Nora is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist pushing the boundaries of genre and form. With a sensitive ear for the pulse of today, she threads vivid observations of our world into the fabric of her music. Growing up in a musical family, improvisation has always been central to her artistic journey. As a result, her sound becomes an intuitive exploration of presence, connection, and creative spontaneity: intimate yet expansive, familiar yet fluid. Her distinctive voice weaves a common thread through these sonic worlds, striking a magnetic balance between chaos and harmony.
On november 14 Cori Nora releases her second album «Pleasure And Focus»: “I wanted to tap into that collective energy — music as a raw and honest form of expression, an imprint of the moment,” she says about the vision behind it. To capture this, she chose to record live with her band, everyone playing together in the same room. Over five immersive days at ARDA Recorders in Porto, they created a shared space for these songs and remained fully in it, witnessing what can emerge from simply being there. «Pleasure And Focus» is the result of this creative alchemy and a testimony to the fleeting magic of the moment.
With a voice that lingers like a late-night conversation and with production that bends the rules, Cori Nora is carving out her own corner of the sonic universe—one that doesn’t ask for permission, only presence.
On a profité du récent passage de Cori Nora à Paris pour envoyer notre camarade Léa, aka Bleu Reine, à la rencontre de la suissesse Cori Nora pour parler du processus de création et des émotions émanant de son album, Flowers and Fences.
